United Nations : Scotland Internships and Call for Papers.

Digital Intern Post

United Nations House Scotland is looking for a new intern to specifically work in a digital capacity. This post shall take on average 2-5 hours per week and is unpaid. We are looking for candidates who meet the following skill set:


-High level of WordPress capability -HTML coding -Interest in International Affairs -Excellent communication skills -Ability to organise between many different tasks


Desirable: -Photography ability -Social Media awareness

Briefing papers and essays – Iran and the Middle East

Do you have an interest in the Middle East or have you already written a paper on the subject? UNHS would like to receive papers for research and possible publication on the UNHS website regarding Iran and the Middle East. There are two categories of paper we would like to receive:


Briefing paper – this paper should not exceed 1500 words and should be submitted with a brief abstract.


Essay – papers of any length may be submitted but if the length exceeds 2000 words please also submit a short briefing paper along with an abstract.

All papers should be spelling and grammar checked and referenced using the Harvard referencing system. Please send submissions tolydia.moore@unhouse.co.uk. Please supply your contact details along with your submission as we may follow up your submission with some questions. There is no deadline for submission.


UN House Scotland is supported by numerous interns, from a variety of sectors. Many of the UN House interns are students from Edinburgh’s prestigious universities and colleges, others undertake internships after graduating, in order to gain the valuable experience needed, to begin a career in international relations, policy making or political engagement. UN House could not operate without the hard work of its interns, who are instrumental in coordinating events, conferences and programmes.
