UoD Talk: Trumping International Law?

  • Start: 13 Mar 1:30PM End: 13 Mar 3:00PM

  • Location: Dalhousie, Lecture Theatre 1

Dr Andrea Birdsall from the University of Edinburgh will be giving a talk of the effect Donald Trump, 45th president of America, has had on international law.

The talk will look at a wide range of international laws and norms that Trump has seemed to disregard and the negative effects this has had on Trump’s America and international law and institutions.

Trump’s policies and attitude will be compared to those of previous presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama. Their policies and attitudes to international law and its institutions can be seen as Trump light but the heavy hand of the latest president may have done lasting damage.
